alfanar has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Water Authority to localize and transfer Distributed Control System (DCS) technologies. The MoU was signed in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, President of the Saudi Water Authority.

The MoU was signed on behalf of alfanar by Eng. Abdul Salam Al Mutlaq, Chairman of alfanar, and on behalf of the Saudi Water Authority by Eng. Sharekh bin Ibrahim Al Sharekh, Vice President for Projects & Technical Affairs.

The agreement aims to strengthen national capabilities and establish a local industrial base in advanced technology fields, while improving the quality of services delivered across water projects and expanding into local sectors and international markets through the provision of integrated solutions based on the localization and transfer of DCS technologies.

The MoU includes the establishment of a technical support and knowledge transfer center for advanced technologies, the development of manufacturing facilities to support the execution and delivery of water projects, and the organization of joint training courses and programs in control systems. These initiatives will contribute to developing national talent and enhancing sector readiness.

Commenting on the signing, Eng. Abdul Salam Al Mutlaq stated: “This MoU represents a strategic step that reflects alfanar’s commitment to supporting the objectives of alfanar’s local content development program “Estidamah”, localizing advanced technologies, and contributing to the development of the water sector ecosystem through high-value, locally driven industrial and technological solutions. We are proud of our partnership with the Saudi Water Authority in transferring knowledge and building national capabilities, which will enhance project efficiency and elevate operational sustainability.”

This agreement comes as part of alfanar’s ongoing efforts to support Saudi Vision 2030, strengthen local content under the Estidamah program, and enable national industry across vital sectors.
